Now, why do they ship the dried leaves to mexico for extraction do you think?
More than a few pharma companies have plants in Mexico. I guess it is cheaper to do the big value added steps outside the USA. The yew leaves are an ag product until some point when the extracts are converted into a valuable drug product. My guess is that it is exported or just transferred, possibly as a farm product, for tax reasons. Maybe someone out there has more depth on this.
