    You hiked up there, right? Another good ‘hike’ is Mt. Evans, although I suspect it still has 10 ft of snow on the ‘trail’. If you go early enough in the morning (and early in the season), you might see the mountain goats stomping about, kids in tow…

    I’m not sure where you are in Colorado. After spending a week in Boulder I noticed a distinct ‘high’ after returning to sea level.
    I assume someone like yourself gets a long term lift when traveling.

    This photo is from October of 06. I “hiked” to my seat on the cog train and sat while the machine hauled my fat ass up the mountain. I was rummaging thru photos and decided to post this one.

    Nelson- I for one don’t notice much of a change when I go to sea level. Mostly, I am too overcome by the humidity to notice the partial pressure of oxygen. But quite a number of runners and cyclists train in the mountains to ramp up their tolerance to oxygen starvation. Some of the ski resorts offer “oxygen bars” where O2 is bubbled through odorants for a more pleasurable effect.
