My wife regained contact with an old colleague who had just started up a new company and needed good employees. Be that she is clearly my better half, she got the job…
Linkedin is a huge boon and very useful, not only for looking for jobs, but researching companies you are applying for and looking for contacts inside the company as well. More, it gives a potential employer a way to find out more about you, so it is an opportunity to sell yourself and your range of talents without loading up a resume to multiple pages.
(Applying for a job without making contact inside the company is a waste of a resume).
My current job.
Well. That pretty much says it all.
I was offered a job in mass spectrometer sales via LinkedIn. A job that I would never apply for in a million years. So I guess that’s a no…
Was it just sales or did it include installation and training?
It’s been very helpful at finding contacts and jobs.
Nice to know.

Hi David,
You make some excellent points. I can see that my approach to it has been far too passive.
Thanks.
