    too much. fun.

The song draws elements from Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel Dune. The lyric “If you walk without rhythm, it won’t attract the worm,” is the same advice given by Paul Atreides to Lady Jessica. On the planet Arrakis, also called Dune, giant sandworms living underground are attracted to steady rhythms. The advice given by Paul is meant to keep anyone safe from sandworms if they have to walk on the surface of the planet.

but please gaussling – how did you get there from here?

Good catch! I must confess there was no planned connection between an obscure reference to Dune and the apppearance of this video in this blog. It is a semi-random event, much like the fabled cinnamon bun that resembled Mother Theresa. Until you pointed it out, I had not even heard the lyric “If you walk without rhythm, you won’t attract the worm.” I tend not to listen to lyrics, but rather let them blend into the overall sound. This habit is why I decided not to become an air traffic controller.
