If most of us had a dog that behaved in the unwholesome manner that radio entertainer Rush Limbaugh does, we would have it euthanized at the humane society. Limbaugh of course is the GOP’s grotesque and doctrinaire cartoon character and resident mad dog. Limbaugh has been promoting the idea that conservative voters slyly vote for Hillary Clinton in the primaries so as to aid her delivery to the electorate for the general election as the Democratic candidate. As the thinking goes, this will polarize voters and drive panicked undecided or inactive voters to the polls like nails to a magnet to vote for whomever the opposing party offers.
Voting is one of the most important acts we commit as citizens. To soil it with cunning and subterfuge in this manner is to disfigure ones standing as a citizen. It is simply wrong and Limbaugh should be widely condemned for his part in it. I’m thinking tar and feathers. Or, tar and packing peanuts.

Indiana reportage of Obama stronghold voting tallies was delayed more than three hours while misplaced ballot boxes bulging with Clinton votes were discovered. Though small ripples perturb the surface we will all surf the great wave of Liberal promise: “There is beer at the bottom of the hole.” (In the meanwhile, abandon everything containing bisphenol-A. It has unknown hazards for children until somebody deserving patents bisphenol-MEK.)
Limbaugh’s Manchurian candidate will face Clitler or the Dark Lord. Be on the lookout for anybody named Alaric.
The Republican Party has for a while made every attempt in its power to limit voter participation, whether reasonable (ID at polls) or not (Florida ’00), and has when it has had a choice has chosen to expand government in secret and out of popular control (Nixon, Reagan, Bush II) than to shrink it in public as they claim to desire. They have already soiled the principles of a nation they claim to love, so maybe they figure they can’t it get much dirtier, and they might win and get what they want. Nothing to lose isn’t pretty.
Normally they’re not supposed to be this open with their disrespect, though – maybe seven years of Shrub have made them realize that they can do what they want so long as they hang the flag with the correct animal on it over the top.
I dunno – Daily Kos advocated this exact strategy in Michigan, another open primary state. Democrats were urged to vote for Mitt Romney, who they thought would be easier to beat come November. Since when has either political party ever played perfectly fair? And RL, repulsive as he often is, is not the chairman of the GOP and his views cannot be held to represent the official view of the party, even if many party members agree with him.

Hi Ralph, The designs are courtesy of WordPress. I haven’t a clue what they signify. I think that the space they occupy is for the avatars of those who comment.

Hi Uncle Al, There is some kind of mechanism on the dashboard page of a WordPress blog to upload an avatar. I think these things follow you around and are left behind with your comments. I’m not keen on such things, so I haven’t bothered.

Unclean! Galileo, Newton, Einstein… to string theory can be falsified one and all on an undergrad lab bench, or not. Physics disdains chemo-crackpottery but no academic has the guts to look. (Or run a parity Eötvös experiment opposing enantiomorphic space groups P3(1)21 and P3(2)21 single crystal alpha-quartz test masses.) Do local left and right shoes vacuum free fall identically, violating the Equivalence Principle? Somebody should look.
