Here is a link to the amazing video of the day. It is a quadruped robot called Big Dog. Take a look at the RHex robot as well. Flippin’ amazing. Gee Wally, it’d sure be nice to have some DARPA money.
Paintball gun to blind robots..
Wipers on the robot.
Slimeball gun to blind robots.
Layered sequential pull-off films.
Quickset epoxyballs to end robots, two shooters.
Flour, carbon black, or aluminum flake balls. Laser pointer. Mirror in sunlight.
The Big Dog Robot makes quite a racket. It sounds like a chainsaw. What struck me was just how well the limb articulation worked. Watching it climb that pile of cinder blocks, it looks like a mule in the way it finds its footing.
As a weapon or recon device it’d be pretty easy to defeat. But as a pack animal, it has possibilities if you don’t mind the noise.
This is why the stimulus is doooooomed. That DARPA quadraped robot thing was being held up by a wire!
Shows you what govt spending is good for. I suppose there was a midget inside moving the legs.

How much noise do they make when moving?
