Theorists boast promiscuity while empiricists pay child support. There will be no Higgs. There will be no SUSY partners. Physics played NINJA financing with theory and now the debt has come due.
I think it gave the S&P 500 cancer. Still it gives me great hope that our scientists are doing everything they can to dissuade the earth from conceding to the relatively real threats of:
1. Global warming.
2. Nuclear Destruction
3. Comet collisions
4. Alien invasions
5. Killer bee invasion from South America (still waiting for this one. May very well destroy mankind.)
To thus create a highly improbable blackhole which makes 1-5 mute. At least with #5 you eventually get a race of highly intelligent bees!
It’s a million to one chance, but it just might work!
