Redoubt Volcano Continues to Show Activity

The Redoubt volcano is making its presence known. It has played havoc with some petroleum infrastructure (Drift River Oil Terminal) and has begun to dump ash. Lahar activity has flooded a runway and generally made a mess. The photos below do not show the volcano in a major eruption. Most of the AVO/USGS close up shots seem to be taken when the mountain is quiet.

The EPA must shut down Mt. Redoubt for visible plume and emissions of sulfur dioxide, carbon doxide, and particulates. Impound the whole of Alaska until the issue can be resolved in court. Meanwhile… $10,000/occurance-day fines. The ash must be collected (fragile and endanged species are at risk!) and buried in a certified chemical landfill. Florida looks like the closest one (until the mordida arrives).

If Canada is affected we have committed an act of war. Think of the savings for troop and materiel transportation. Be careful not to conquer Quebec.
