Management is tasked with digging perfect holes – ISO 900x, Six Sigma. Once the perfect hole is dug anything will fit into it. Management must secure performance bonuses, so holes must be dug ever deeper and wider.
Asking whether a huge, deep, perfectly cubic hole is apprpriate to laying irrigation pipe is insubordination and termination for cause. Excavated volume appears on a spreadsheet, not purpose.
