It appears as though CERN’s atom smasher didn’t destroy the world yesterday. That, or earth’s destruction is a slower process than we imagined.

How do you know that the event didn’t destroy the world but also caused a rip in the Space-Time continuim so we just haven’t found out yet?
Dammit!!! I didn’t think of that …
My guess is the universe WAS destroyed. Alright follow this logic. It’s just that when something is completely destroyed it must go somewhere, right?
So if everything is destroyed simultaneously then everything goes somewhere else at the same time, thus giving the illusion nothing happened.
Plato- is that sort like what happens with my paycheck?
gaussling you must not watch much of the newer Star Treks (Movies, 2nd Gen, Voyger etc,) as seems to happen fairly regularly.
only shot a one-way beam, not the two counter ones that will collide.
But this is all Internet hype. Maybe fueled by fundamentalists who think it will disprove their creationist views even more. The ring in Illinois tsame at lower energies, so the black hole part ought to have already happened. LHC only gets to higher enerfies so that things like the Higgs boson might be seen. In strong theory, these micro-black holes are everywhere, but in other dimensions. If this stuff were true, the Big Bang would have fizzled the way people are thinking.
